Scientific Writing

In this course, you learn to write a scientific article, either a research article based on your own research data or a literature review about a subject of your own choice. This is a necessary skill for anyone who wants to pursue an academic career after their graduation, but it can also be used immediately for all academic texts you will write during your Master program, such as your Master thesis. In seven weeks, we will go through all steps of the writing process, from formulating a good main question and finding relevant literature, to the actual writing, re-writing and final editing. You will exercise with finding, reading and managing relevant academic literature, writing in an academic style, building a comprehensive argumentation, reviewing fellow students' articles and using other students and the instructor's comments to improve your own work.
