A Seminar/Literature Study worth 12 credits

The seminar/literature study project is one of the last study units of the MSc AM programme. It is an individual in-depth literature study with a seminar presentation with sufficient academic content in the specific field of expertise chosen by the student and needs approval beforehand from the thesis supervisor. The project may be executed within a research program at TU Delft, or in a suitable research institute or company. The nominal duration of this project is 3 months (12 ECTS). This seminar/literature study is connected to the subject of research in the course WI5000COSSE Thesis Project.The student carries out the project independently, with the guidance of one or more thesis supervisors, at least one of them from the scientific staff of Delft University of Technology, and under the responsibility of the full or associate professor who approved the IEP. The thesis committee assesses the literature report and the presentation on the following criteria:

- quality of work: find and read correct papers, is able to formulate research questions;

- personal performance: autonomy, planning, attitude;

- quality of literature report: clarity, organization, argumentation;

- oral presentation and answering questions: clarity, focus, relevance, discussion.

Weighting of assessment:

- Quality of the work (research) (25% weight of the final grade),

- Performance (25%),

- Report (25%)

- Presentation & answering questions (25%).

Resit/ Repair opportunities:

In case of an insufficient result, repair opportunities may be offered in accordance with TER Implementation Regulations Art 5, sub 5., for:

- Report: resubmit deliverable

- Presentation: resit presentation and answering of questions

Depending on the planning of the student it might happen that it is not possible to repair the report or the presentation within the same academic year.
