Existence and uniqueness of solutions of initial value problems, Gronwall's lemma, Autonomous systems, Critical points, Periodic solutions, Stability theory, Linear systems and Floquet theory, Perturbation theory and asymptotic methods, Poincare-Lindstedt method, Averaging method, Multiple time-scales method, Elementary bifurcations.
Toetsing
The final grade of the course consists of the following components:
- Take home exam (50%)
- oral exam (50%)
Final grade calculation: (0.5 * take home exam) + (0.5 * oral exam)
The take-home exam consists of 30 exercises. The oral exams will be held at the end of the 2nd quarter, and the student is only allowed to take part in this oral exam when at least 70% of the take-home exercises are made correctly and when the MAXIMA practical work is followed successfully.
In case of an insufficient result, repair opportunities may be offered in accordance with TER Implementation Regulations Art 5, sub 5
