Part I:
Numerical methods for the convection-diffusion equation;
Stability, consistency and convergence of the numerical methods;
Extensions to incompressible Navier-Stokes equations;
Part II:
Basic iterative solvers and preconditioners for the Poisson problem;
Schwarz domain decomposition preconditioners for the Poisson problem:
Extension of Schwarz preconditioners to saddle point problems (Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations)

4 (optional) assignments (two per part of the course: A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2)

Project report (P)
Remark: The project report grades are group grades, therefore all group members receive the same grade.Oral exam (O), with the following parts:
Project presentation (1/3 of the grade)
Theory questions on contents of the course (2/3 of the grade)
Final grade calculation: 0.4 P + 0.6 O
Resit/ Repair opportunities: In case of an insufficient result, repair opportunities may be offered in accordance with TER Implementation Regulations Art 5, sub 5., for:
Report: resubmit improved report
Oral exam: resit oral exam
To pass the course, the following is mandatory:
The project report must be completed with a grade greater than 5.5.
The oral exam must be completed with a grade greater than 5.5
