Principles of Asset Trading

Principles of Asset Trading is the most applied course of the Minor Finance. The course consists of two perspectives:
First the perspective of the investor in which the student will be introduced to the mechanics of financial products like bonds and stocks. Markowitz' theory and the CAPM model will be introduced as a way to build optimal portfolios.
Second the perspective of the corporation in which the student will be introduced to the way companies issue shares, deal with debt and develop an optimal dividend policy.
Toetsing
There are four assignments. The average of the 4 handed-in assignments count for 25% of the final grade. Not-handed in assignments are graded with a zero. The other 75% are determined by a written exam. The exam consists partially of multiple choice questions (approx. 20) and partially of open question (approx. 3). The exam will be a written exam.
