Calculus I

The goal of the course is to lay a strong foundation for the

numerous and various applications of calculus, both directly

within the field of aerospace engineering as in advanced

engineering mathematics. The possibility of using computer

algebra systems allows for a shift in emphasis from technical

skills towards understanding the underlying concepts.

Preliminary examinations (two hours) at the end of the first and second quarters.

Both assessments have a two-hour duration and consist of a number of short answer questions (only answer is assessed) and a number of open questions (calculation/motivation is assessed).

*In the event of on-campus restrictions (e.g. due to COVID), assessments will be 90 min online (Grasple) proctored exams.
