Modelleren 1

This course is the first of a set of four mathematical modelling courses. These modelling courses teach how to use mathematical tools to analyse real-life problems. In this first course the modelling cycle is introduced and skills from calculus 1 and programming are used to define, analyse and improve mathematical models based on ODEs. The students also get an introduction into scientific literacy, writing and presenting.

Communication with tutor, report, and poster.

The project is evaluated per group. The performance during the lab sessions, the written report and the poster are the input for the grade. The quality of the research counts for 40 % of the grade. The report counts for 25 %, the performance for 25% and the poster for 10%.

The introduction into scientific literacy and the scientific writing part of the course have to be concluded with a 'Pass".
