Internship TBM

The external project or internship, TPM593A, is an elective part of the TPM Master Programmes MoT, EPA, TIL, and CoSEM. Enrolling for the course always starts with contact via internships-TBM@tudelft.nl.

Students who are interested in doing an internship can only do this in their elective space, and not by replacing the compulsory courses.

CoSEM students are permitted to do the external project as Track electives (in which case the subject must be related to the track) or as part of their free electives.

Students who started in 2015 or earlier: students who are interested in doing an internship can do so by using the elective space of 9 EC.

Students doing an internship will have to meet the following requirements (see also the study guide for the requirements of course TPM593a and Brightspace):

- Students are required to apply for approval first to internship coordinator via internships-TBM@tudelft.nl and then to Board of Examiners in advance.

- Each internship must have both an external supervisor and a TPM supervisor involved.

- The internship will be concluded with a final assignment, the format of which will be determined in consultation with both supervisors. This may include a written report, a presentation, a model, or a combination thereof, depending on the specific requirements and agreements made during the internship.

- Students that exceed 400 hours will be requested to have a meeting with the academic counsellors regarding work-like balance.

- The external project will be assessed by the TPM supervisor and external supervisor by filling out the required assessment form.

- Students are required to remain registered as Master student at TU Delft during the entire project.

- Students are suggested to have a meeting with academic counsellors regarding work-life balance.

- The student is responsible for any study delay because of a prolonged (longer in terms of study load than the EC involved) internship.

Students are encouraged to organize their own external project.
