Idea to Start-up - Energy and Sustainability

The course stimulates and assists students in creating a sustainable business idea and assessing the feasibility and the market potential thereof by testing it against prospective customers and key players in the specific industry of application.

Business ideas must be in the domain of energy or sustainability. A sustainable business idea is a product, a process or a service that enables sustainability, where sustainability is defined as the capacity for the biosphere and human civilization to co-exist indefinitely.

Students work together in teams which will be self-formed or if needed formed by the instructor.

Each team needs to come up with an original sustainable startup idea, or a sustainable business idea connected to pressing sustainability challenges of our day.

Each sustainable business idea must be technology-based: we do not accept apps and definitely no consulting of any kind.

The course consists of two interconnected parts:

1. Students attend lectures and workshops.

2. Teams carry out a feasibility study for their sustainable business idea.
