Summary
In this course, you do not study entrepreneurship, you become an entrepreneur. Working in a team, you identify a business opportunity, validate it, and build a viable business model, a roadmap from an idea to a sustainable innovation-driven company. After this course, you will be able to proactively assess the merit of a technology startup, whether you want to build one or join one.
During the eight teaching sessions we investigate societal challenges, how technology can address these and the way in which we can create viable entrepreneurial business opportunities. As a framework for this, we use the business planning process and students develop the essential parts of a business plan and investor pitch as to achieve this goal.
Students will work in teams to develop a minimum viable business proposition. Central are the methodologies to conduct opportunity identification, market analysis, technology viability assessment, competitive positioning, team-building, product life-cycle planning, marketing strategy, sales channel analysis.
Personal development is important and in the course of the program students will learn to think as an entrepreneur and act as a salesperson; a champion that has a specific eye for longevity of the business, sustaining growth and responsible innovation.
