Talk Like TED

A TEDx Talk is a showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes (ted.com). To give a TEDx Talk, a speaker needs more than just a great idea; he or she needs a variety of tools. An important one is knowledge of rhetorical theories and the ability to apply them in oral presentations. In this course students learn how to design and deliver a TEDx Talk, using rhetorical strategies and other techniques needed to captivate an audience.

The final grade will be a weighted average of grades for the final presentation and for the final reflection report. Students’ performance and efforts during classes (e.g. contributions during discussions and prepared presentation assignments) may be taken into account to round off the final grade.
