Mathematical Methods for Modern Physics

This course is a refresher and an introduction to the math necessary to smoothly follow courses on statistical mechanics and quantum mechanics.

Topics include: linear algebra, coordinate systems, solving differential equations, Fourier transforms, integrals, differentiation and series.

The course will be assessed through 3 exams covering the topics covered in all nine chapters.

The grade if made of the average of all 3 grades.

If a student has a reasonable reason to be absent for one of the exam, he can request an oral exam to replace this particular exam.

The resit is a single exam covering all chapters and content of the courses.
