This course will not be taught this year. This course has been replaced by TN2627. There will still be two exams for TN2625.
In previous years, the course consists of 12 lectures and 12 tutorials. The course will last for four weeks.

2b Free energy, Thermodynamic potentials
2c Dilute system, Chemical equilibrium & Summary of Chap 1,2,3,5

3a The Boltzmann Distribution: introduction, the Two State Paramagnet, the Einstein solids &The Partition Function
3b Equipartition theorem, Ideal Gases and Composite systems
3c Quantum Statistics, Gibbs factor

4a Bosons-Fermions statistics, Fermi gas
4b Ising models and Hopfield memories
4c Applications: Blackbody radiation, Cold atomic gases; Revision
