Quantum Engineering and Applications
Beschrijving
This course will cover modern topics in applied quantum mechanics and make the students familiar with scientific and engineering aspects of quantum technologies. The topics to be cover are
1) Quantum bits and entanglement
- Qubits and quantum circuits
- Quantum gates
- Bell states
2) Quantum communication
- Quantum teleportation
- Entanglement swapping
- Quantum key distribution
3) Quantum computing
- Quantum algorithms
- Quantum hardware: Superconducting qubits
- Quantum hardware: Spin qubits
Toetsing
The final examination will be a three hours open-book exam on problems similar to those encountered during the course. The problems at the exam will be either conceptual, analytical or numerical questions.
