TM Literature Study

The third year of the master Technical Medicine (TM) is the graduation year with the Master thesis as major project. This project is divided in a literature study of 10 EC and a MSc thesis part of 35 EC. The MSc thesis is supervised by one medical and one technical supervisor of which one functions as graduation supervisor.

The goal of the literature study is to prepare for your MSc Thesis. The reasons to start with a literature study is to quickly achieve an overview of your research topic. Apart from writing a report, you will give a presentation about the acquired overview and its implications for your master thesis.

1. Assesment

By the end of the literature study you are required to write a scientific report in academic English about your literature study. Apart from writing a report, you will give a presentation (in Dutch or English) about the overview acquired and its implications for your master thesis.

2. Final grade

- 40% final grade from medical supervisor for report

- 40% final grade from technical supervisor for report

- 10% final grade from an independent assessor (member of the department staff) for the presentation

- 10% final grade from another independent assessor (member of the department staff) for the presentation
