Skills in Acute Setting

Medical professionals are expected to be able to manage patients with acute diseases in a protocolized fashion. For this purpose, amongst others, the ABCDE approach to the acutely ill patients, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced (Trauma) Life Support (A(T)LS) have been introduced. During Medical Skills 2 (MS2), the principles behind ABCDE, BLS and A(T)LS will be repeated and students will participate in scenario training. As a part of the course and in preparation of the clinical internships, specific attention will be given to the process of feedback during learning situations and crew resource management (CRM).
