Sensing of Neurophysiological Signals
Beschrijving
The overall aim of this course is to get in-depth knowledge of physics, acquisition techniques, and processing of electric signals with a focus on neuronal systems. The student learns how to record physiological signals, how to analyze and interpret them. To this end, the student acquires knowledge on neuroanatomy, neuropathology, neurophysiology, and neuropathophysiology. The student is trained to advise which type of measurement is needed to support clinical decision-making.
Topics:
EEG
EMG
BIS
Evoked potentials (SSEP, BAEP, VEP, MEP)
ICP
NIRS
INVOS
Toetsing
The final grade consists of:
- Written examination (60%)
- Group assignments: paper and presentation of project, weighted with individual input. (40%)
