Advanced Image Processing
Beschrijving
Advanced Medical Image Processing familiarises students with the basic methods that are used to plan and guide interventions and to extract quantitative information from images.
In Medical Image Processing, segmentation, registration, classification, clustering and visualisation are crucial. For example to automatically delineate organs at risk before the planning of radiotherapy, registration and segmentation methods are applied. For the automatic quantification of the white matter lesion load in the brain, segmentation, registration, classification and visualisation are deployed.
In this course the following topics will be covered:
- Image segmentation
- Image registration
- Machine learning for images
- Deep learning
- Visualisation
Toetsing
The final grade consist of:
Written examination (60%)
Assignments: reports and code of the individual assignments and group paper presentation (this is weighted with individual input) (40%)
The (overall) grade for the assignments should be 5.0 or higher.
Exam and weighted average should be 5.8 or higher.
