Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Business
Beschrijving
A key part of the course content is understanding what the SDGs are and how they can be instrumental in reaching a more sustainable society at large. The course analyzes the genesis of the SDGs and key points in their development. One major component is examining case studies of how organizations are taking action to address the SDGs and the challenges they face. This means analyzing how these goals are being pursued and the difficulties encountered by organizations. It also involves considering existing gaps and feasible solutions to close these gaps. Students will critically appraise the efforts of specific companies, synthesizing their findings into a report and group presentation. This practical application allows students to see the SDGs in action in the corporate world. Another facet of the course is guest lectures from experts in relevant fields. Hearing diverse perspectives from professionals working on sustainable development issues helps expand students' understanding beyond theoretical concepts. The external visit/s likely provide a similar experiential learning opportunity.
