CDI thesis 3-year programme
Beschrijving
The MEP at the Communication Design for Innovation group is a thesis project in which you integrate a study in science communication with your thesis in the science and technology domain (3 year double degree), or do science communication research in a technical context (1 or 2 year single degree). During the Science Communication MEP you are supervised by at least 3 supervisors: two Communication Design for Innovation staff members: one 'daily' supervisor and one second supervisor who will assess your thesis work at the beginning (plans), green light meeting (towards the end) and graduation presentation and defense (end). A lecturer /staff member of your science and technology master will be part of your graduation committee as well.
In this MEP, you will start by formulating a problem statement, the research objective and the central question. Additional sub questions will structure your research process. You will be expected to refer to the most recent and relevant literature, and to ground your research methodology thoroughly. The Board of Examiners has to approve of your thesis set up. The central topic of your MEP should revolve around an aspect of Communication Design for Innovation, in particular in relation to your own academic background/field (and other MEP, if part of a double degree program). When your research proposal is ready and you research involves human subjects, you need to follow TU Delft's HREC procedure and apply for an ethical approval before starting the research (for the actual procedure check HREC website).
