Graduation Project
Beschrijving
The Graduation Project (SET3901) is the last study unit of the MSc SET programme. The project has a study load of 45 EC, which is equivalent to a full-time duration of 7.5 months.
The topic of the project should fall within the chosen profile cluster, with the exception that it can fall under a fourth profile that the student has followed entirely as part of their elective space.
In the Graduation Project a student works independently on a research project, under guidance of one or more supervisors. Important is that system integration is addressed in the project. The topic can be defined in several ways:
- A specialized topic addressing a specific component of the energy system within one profile. In that case the relation with the energy system must also be demonstrated in the report and during the defence.
- A topic on system integration within one profile.
- A topic on system integration across two or more profiles in a combined project. In that case one of the profiles will take the lead, but the student will have supervisors from all profiles.
Toetsing
On behalf of the Board of Examiners, the thesis committee assesses the graduation project on the day of the presentation and defence of the project, based on the degree to which the study goals have been reached. The core members of the thesis committee determine the final grade.
The justification for the marks for each of the study goals is summarized on the assessment form, which is signed by the chair of the thesis committee.
Resit/ Repair opportunities:
In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations, for:
- Report: resubmit the report
- Defense: resit presentation and defense
Depending on the planning of the student it might not be possible to repair the report and/or the presentation within the same academic year.
Disclaimer: information may change depending on unforeseen circumstances or measures (see: TER Art 2, sub 5).
