Internship (individual)

The Internship SET (SET3822) is a project on a sustainable energy engineering topic performed at a company or institute, either in the Netherlands or abroad. The internship has a study load of 15 EC, which is equivalent to a maximum full-time duration of 3 months, this includes writing the final report.

General guidelines are that it should concern a design, model, system integration or methodology implementation, or an experimental study relevant for the company involved. The topic of the project should fall within at least one of the profiles of the chosen profile cluster. Literature study can only be a minor part of the internship.

When carrying out Internship SET (SET3822) at a company or institute, the following conditions apply:

- The student joins in with the company or institute culture in general, including sharing the company-established balance between on-site and online work.

- The student joins in with the day-to-day running of the company or institute similar to regular employees. This includes having regular consultation and interaction with colleagues and manager(s), and access to and use of the company-specific resources and tools applicable to the internship. Such resources and tools can be physical/on-site (e.g. measurement equipment, company machines and infrastructure) as well as virtual (online, software tools, databases, ...).

• The student needs to write a technical report during the internship and send it to the company supervisor and the TU Delft supervisor on the final day of the internship.

• The student needs to write a reflection note and a testimonial and send these documents, together with the technical report, to the internship office, on the final day of the internship.

• The company supervisor needs to send the evaluation within two weeks after the end of the internship to the TU Delft supervisor.

• The TU Delft supervisor needs to send the TU evaluation and the company evaluation to the internship office, within two weeks after receiving the evaluation from the company supervisor.

• When the internship office has received the two reports and the two assessment forms, the grade will be processed within a week.

The TU Delft supervisor is responsible for the final grading. The internship will be graded with a pass or a fail (not numerically).

In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A, Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations, for:
