"Learn the fundamentals of the MATLAB scripting language and model-based design using Simulink"

Get acquainted with MATLAB and Simulink though a series of interactive lectures focusing on developing real-world programming skills and insight. A series of "activities" during lectures and weekly homework get you to increase your "hands-on" experience. Get to focus on common pitfalls and mistakes and how to avoid them. Get exposed to "good" programming style guidelines so that others can better understand and further work with, or modify your code and designs. You get to practice in a mid-term mini project and demonstrate your newly acquired skills in a final mini project.

This course follows a PASS or FAIL grading scheme structured as follows:

Formative assessment:

1) In the form of "activities" that are introduced, analyzed, and if time permits solved and discussed during lectures. Activities can (and have to) be delivered at the latest before the beginning of the next lecture. Activities get a delivery acknowledgment. A student must have at least 80% of the activities delivered to get a final grade.

2) In the form of a "mid-term" project carried on in groups, to be delivered at around half the course schedule. A lecture session is devoted for groups to peer-review and analyze the results of this project. Delivery of this project is compulsory to get a final grade.

Summative assessment:

A final project carried on in groups has to be delivered at a date announced in Brightspace. Your project deliverable gets assessed by the lecturer. It has to reflect that you (each student in your group) have fulfilled the learning objectives to get a PASS mark.

Resit/ Repair opportunities:

In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A – Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations, for:
