Energy Systems Simulation and Digital Twins
Beschrijving
Computer simulation is central to energy system planning and operational decision-making. This course introduces advanced concepts and notions of modeling and simulation applied to energy systems. The course is divided into four themes: energy systems simulation, co-simulation, digital twins, and stochastic simulation. The first theme presents energy systems simulation concepts, including the different time-domain simulation models (dynamic, steady-state, scenario-based). In the second theme, challenges related to integrating different simulation models are presented, including topics such as data exchange, standardization, and APIs. The third theme presents the concept of digital twins, providing a detailed architecture for its implementation. The difference between digital twins and (co)simulation models is also presented. Finally, the fourth theme presents how to represent uncertainty when modelling and an introduction to Montecarlo simulation.
