Beschrijving

This course is an introduction to mathematical optimisation modelling applied to diverse problems in planning and operating energy systems, in particular energy systems with a high share of variable (weather-dependent) wind and solar generation. We will go from a solid theoretical grounding in formulating different kinds of optimisation problems, to practical strategies to solve them under real-world conditions. To do so, we will formulate problems in Matlab using the YALMIP optimisation package.

Toetsing

The final grade consists 100% of an individual exam.

In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A, Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations (TER).
