Innovations in Transport and Logistics
Beschrijving
The transport and logistics systems are continuously changing due to the introduction innovative concepts in vehicles, infrastructure, and services. Examples range from the introduction of the car, to e-bikes or fat bikes, UAVs, high speed train (vehicles), Uber, GPS tracking, satellite navigation, or crowd monitoring and AI (services), to charging facilities for electric driving (infrastructure). But many innovations fail and are never adopted despite being promising. Others have undesired consequences that may undermine the resilience of the (transport) system or create unwanted cascading effects into other systems or services.
Therefore, policy-makers, investors, start-ups and transport providers need to understand the chances for success and the implications of the innovations they pursue.
