Travel Behaviour Research
Beschrijving
In this course students learn how to perform travel behaviour research and how to translate the findings from such research into recommendations for transport policy design.
The students will acquire knowledge about six modelling paradigms in travel behaviour research, namely the econometric, psychological, geographical, biographical, marketing and sociological paradigm. The strengths and weaknesses of each paradigm will be discussed. In addition, three state-of-the-art methods to analyse travel behaviour (structural equation models, latent class choice models and latent class clusters models) will be treated. These methods figure prominently within the six modelling paradigms. For each method there will be a group assignment (so 3 in total). These group assignments will count for 50% of the grade.
