RO MSc Thesis
Beschrijving
The MSc Robotics graduation project is intended as the final step of your 2-year master programme, and its 45 EC are split into two course codes:
The Literature Research (RO57010-20, 10 EC)
The MSc Thesis Research (this course code, 35 EC)
The thesis work is the students individual masterpiece. Students have to dig deep into a research or development topic, show their theoretical knowledge and creativity, and generate new knowledge or develop a new design. They have regular meetings with their supervisor(s) and show their responsibility in work, writing, and time and project management. They have to write a well-structured scientific report, present their achievements in a public presentation, and defend their work privately before a graduation committee.
If a student undertakes the MSc thesis project at a company, a graduation agreement should be signed. For this the template of the TUD-ME graduation agreement should be used, which is available at the following on the ME Faculty's MSc Forms page. More information and guidelines can be found on the MSc Robotics student information Brightspace page.
To ensure the thesis research plan is based on a good assessment of the shortcomings in the existing literature, and addresses a meaningful and relevant research question, students should conduct a Literature Study (RO57010-20) under supervision of their thesis supervisor. The Literature Research will be assessed separately from the thesis research, and also involves presenting and attending student colloquia presentations to help you prepare you for your thesis defense.
