Equipping the QIST professional

QIST holds a promise to transform society with disruptive technologies, which already has effects on political discourse, academic organization or corporate strategies. A critical reflection based on ethical and societal considerations on what future QIST offers is therefore much needed.

At the same time, QIST will shape your future: your knowledge, skills, professional identity and career opportunities. As a future QIST professional, finding a career path that suits your values and ambitions can then appear as a challenge.

In this course, you will address both of these interlinked aspects. You will do so by reflecting on your personal and professional experiences, and on needs and dilemmas related to the content based QIST courses.

Assessment is done on a pass/fail basis. To get a pass, two conditions need to be met:

• All assignments need to have been submitted and approved on the Brightspace page of the course

• All in-person sessions need to have been attended. For each of the two quarters of the course, if one misses two sessions or more, an extra session at least needs to be completed.

Self, peer, and mentor assessment are used to foster proficiency in the transferable skills summed up in the learning objectives.
