Seminars

At the beginning of this course in Q1 there will be 3 in person sessions. Attendance is highly encouraged but not mandatory.

Session 1:

Introductions and expectations, how to find seminars, form groups, what should be included in a report.

Session 2:

A faculty seminar on a nanobiology topic

Session 3:

Share and discuss the seminar reports from session 2.

Attend seminars and write seminar reports on your own schedule for the rest.

This is a pass/fail course.

You must submit 12 reports.

The report should summarize the contents of a research seminar, and include (at the end) a personal reflection (discuss whether it was interesting, useful, applicable to your current research, whether you could understand what was presented). Please keep in mind that you are not writing a mini review, but a seminar report: it should introduce the speaker and include reference to the seminar.

Reports are submitted via Brightspace. A grade will be uploaded within 2 weeks of receiving the last acceptable report. There is no resit. Submit seminar reports until you've completed the course.

The reports will be checked for plagiarism.
