Physics 2

In this course, students will receive an introductory overview of modern physics, including optics, special relativity, and quantum mechanics, among other topics. These physical principles will be taught through the lens of biological examples, providing a unique perspective on the relationship between physics and the natural world.

1. The assessment consists of: a midterm written exam (50%) and a final written exam (50%), each 90 minutes long.
   1.a The midterm exam is scheduled for week 1.5 and the final exam for week 1.10.

2. The resit consists of: a single written exam covering the entire course content and is 180 minutes long.
   2.a The resit of the written exam is scheduled for week 2.7.

3. The final grade is composed as follows: 50% midterm exam + 50% final exam. You must receive a minimum of a 5.0 on each exam, and an average over 5.8. For the resit the final grade is 100% the resit exam.

4. Registration for exams is done via: Osiris.

5. Students needing to turn work in late due to personal circumstances must contact the Academic Counsellor prior to turning it in to make arrangements. Other late work might not be graded.

Formative assessment is provided through in-class exercise sessions.
