Motions and Loading of Structures in Waves
Beschrijving
Floating structures: wave forces en motions, nonlinear problems, applications
Participants completing this segment successfully will have a superior knowledge of and be able to predict the motion of floating bodies in the sea. They will be familiar with first order ship motions in irregular waves as well as drift forces, resulting from nonlinear phenomena. They can also apply this to applications such as station keeping and the determination of offshore workability.
Part 1, instructed by Peter Naaijen, is about linear forces, motions and about potential coefficients.
Part 2, instructed by Peter Wellens, is about nonlinear forces and the resulting motions.
