Integration Moment
Beschrijving
The Master program in Management of Technology (MOT) educates students with a bachelor degree in engineering as technology managers, innovation managers, analysts of technological markets (either as scientists or consultants), and entrepreneurs in technology-based, internationally-oriented competitive business environments. The ultimate objective of the program is to improve the quality of technology and innovation management in the different engineering mono-disciplines in practice. Students contribute to t scientific work in the area of MOT and have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, such as advanced technology organizations, laboratories, and high-tech business ventures.
The program deliberately aims at an international and diverse group of students. Students of MOT are all rooted in different engineering mono-disciplines and work together in order to combine insights from the different engineering disciplines and to apply the different aspects of technology and innovation management. In this particular course, we aim to integrate knowledge and skills as put forward in the first year of the MOT program by applying this knowledge and skills through a consultancy assignment for MOT related business cases of organizations and companies. You will work as a technology management consultancy firm for a client with the aim to reflect on knowledge and skills needed to work in a typical MOT environment.
Toetsing
Each of the partial reports will be graded on a scale from 1-10. The total report will be graded from a consistency standpoint as well, which can influence the mark of the partial report for a group. The grade for the final report will be determined by your case coach in collaboration with a specific content coach for technology, innovation, finance and security/safety on the basis of a detailed grading grid. This grid includes the following criteria:
1. The use of MOT concepts and theories (1-10)
2. Understanding of the core issue/topic (1-10)
3. Advice to the client (1-10)
4. Argumentation, and quality of the report (1-10)
5. The contribution of your particular group topic (1-10)
The five criteria will weigh equally. You need a minimum of a 6,0 in total to pass the course. As the grading is project- based, the re-take opportunities are limited to re-writing (parts of) the report in the case of a grade lower than 6,0.
