Ethical, Legal and Social Issues in Biotechnology

In this course you will explore ethical, legal and societal issues of biotechnology that will be relevant to your future work as a professional in biotechnology.

The course will introduce concepts in ethics in the life sciences and familiarize you with some of the most prominent ethical theories and their applications. The course will also stimulate you to critically reflect on the design assignment you do parallel to this course and to integrate a wide range of societal considerations into your design assignment.

This course is a combination of lectures and seminar sessions, coupled with a reflection on your design project and other topics of interest.
