Topics in Biotechnology - Practical

THE COURSE LOAD VARIES BETWEEN 10 - 12 EC, depending on the 'Topic of the year' and/or the desired length of the essay.

Expected prior knowledge

BSc degree LST or similar. Topics in Life Science en Technology theory. The course focusses on students joining in February rather than at the general starting time in September, at exchange students and at honours students.

Course Content

The course will focus on a current high profile topic in the life sciences en technology. This topic will alter every second year and will be chosen by the teacher of the course. Details will be given by the teachers. The topic will be taught in lectures and self-study and will be finally evaluated via an essay of adaptive length to suit the desired number of ECTS.

This year 2023/2024 the application of enzymes in flow is the target of the course. In the theory part of the course the students will have developed a plan on how to apply an enzyme in flow. In the second part this theoretical exercise will be put into practise.
