Design Communication and Visualisation
Beschrijving
The course offers an in depth program of learning profound communication and visualization skills, built on two parallel tiers: (I) generative (including theoretic background) communication/ visualisation skills (analogue), and (II) explanatory communication/ visualisation skills (tablet, digital).
A fundament of visual literacy (included in this course) will support students in visualizing/ communicating elements of a design situation or process. This visual literacy is needed to be able to unravel and manage information and perception thereof, to visualize concepts, to capture and perhaps simplify a complex situation by communicating it visually. Both tier I and II concern theoretic fundaments and realistic design situations.
Note: this course is equivalent to IOB4-S1-22 DCV and can therefore not be followed by students who already passed the IOB4-S1-22 course.
Toetsing
The learning objectives of the course are assessed through:
Formative:
In order to know whether improvement or adjustment is needed of teaching, materials and support, the course will contain weekly discussions and moments of feedback between class and teacher. This formative assessment will be done based on students in-between works.
Summative:
In close relation with the learning goals that were mentioned, the summative assessment will test whether students have attained the required knowledge and skills.
Portfolios of both Tiers I and II serve as a basis for the summative assessment. The final grade will be composed based on 65% Tier I and 35% Tier II.
