Mechatronics course offers unique opportunities for students to design smart, affordable, reliable and versatile consumer products. For this, students will learn knowledge and skills related to electronics, digital signal processing, control, (data-driven) modelling, simulation, prototyping, as well as mechatronic design principles, where the key is to achieve synergy between mechanical and electronic components while striving for added value, e.g. economical and user benefit, in consumer products.

Based on prior knowledge on dynamics, electronics and software, and envisioning the future of smart product design, the mechatronic course will further explore the design of mechatronics products by focusing on three key questions:

1. What are the working principles of mechatronic system and how can (micro) electronics be applied in the system?

2. How can Mechatronic design principles be applied in designing mechatronic products and how do these principles affect the product?

3. How can we implement and optimize the performance of mechatronic system by combining the knowledge on physical models and electronics using intelligently balanced control strategies?
