Intelligent Products

The Intelligent Products course gives students the foundation to design and develop Intelligent products.

Intelligent products utilize advanced digital technologies to enhance their functionality, adaptability, or user experience. They integrate connectivity, data and algorithms to enable capabilities such as data collection, analysis, and interaction with users or other devices.

Examples of intelligent products include smart thermostats that learn user preferences and adjust temperature settings accordingly, fitness trackers that monitor physical activity and provide feedback for improving health, and voice-activated virtual assistants that respond to natural language commands.

This course will use case studies and real-world product examples to motivate and explain basic principles of core digital technologies such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and cloud computing. Students will learn how to prototype intelligent products using Python and ChatGPT.
