Project ExP

Project ExP provides teams of students with space and credits to conduct an interdisciplinary research and design project. The project cannot be part of, or duplicate a course, internship, or graduation.

Projects are expected to translate design research outcomes into design practice in collaboration with an external partner including government, companies, and research institutions. To be eligible, projects need to be done in teams, supervised by an external organization (‘client’), and mentored by a faculty member (‘mentor’).

Projects may start and end at different times (without adhering to the academic calendar), and meet different levels of completeness based on the project brief and agreements with the client.

Projects are initiated by student groups. The scope of projects, milestones and deliverables must be approved by the course coordinator so that the hours allocated to the project do not exceed the allocated ECs.
