Advanced Product Engineering

This is an IPD programme course.

This course introduces advanced engineering techniques that can help you design better products. It addresses fundamental engineering principles and focuses on their practical application to the design and optimisation of products that are effective, efficient and sustainable. Students will learn how to use advanced software tools for modelling and simulation of important physical phenomena (solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics). They will also gain proficiency in writing custom Python code for analysis, simulation and data processing. Throughout the course, students will be taught to recognise the limitations of these techniques, apply them appropriately and critically evaluate their outputs.
