More-than-Human-Design
Beschrijving
This is a theme course of DfI theme 3: Design for Emerging Sustainable Futures.
A more-than-human (MTH) perspective on designing acknowledges that humans are part of an ecosystem. Within this ecosystem microorganisms, plants, animals, and humans produce a variety of effects. But how to conceive of these entanglements, and how can design attend to the needs of an entangled, multi-species world?
More-than-human design promotes the idea that to explore the futures we might face, we need to inquire into what happens when we step into a relational view of the world. In this course we dive into more-than-human literature, gather and discuss examples of MTH perspectives, and explore the potential value of the theoretical MTH discourse for MTH design.
