Master Thesis EE
Beschrijving
The master thesis project is the last study unit of the MSc EE Programme. It is an individual in-depth research or expert design assignment with sufficient academic content in the specific field of expertise chosen by the student and needs approval beforehand from the thesis supervisor. The thesis project may be executed within a research program at TU Delft, or in a suitable research institute or company. The nominal duration of a thesis project is 30 weeks (45 ECTS).
The student carries out the thesis project independently, with the guidance of one or more thesis supervisors, at least one of them from the scientific staff of Delft University of Technology, and under the responsibility of the full or associate professor. With regard to the thesis project, the thesis supervisor may impose additional conditions on the IEP to be met before starting the thesis project.
If desired, an extra project can be used as a preparation for the thesis project. If so, there should be a clear separation in scope and a separate deliverable such that the thesis project can be clearly evaluated in isolation.
The thesis project is governed by the EEMCS Graduation Policy. Below you find a short description of the different steps to be taken during the thesis work:
Orientation
Kick-off meeting
Midterm meeting
Green-light review
Graduation defence
Before you can start your master’s thesis project, you need to have an Individual Exam Programme (IEP) which has been approved by the Board of Examiners. From your IEP, at least 60 credits of the master's degree course work should be completed. You need to prove this with a Study Progress Overview that can be obtained using the MyTUDelft app.
Download the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The name of the app: MyTUDelft.
You can also use the webversion: my.tudelft.nl.
