Over-Sampled Data Converters
Beschrijving
The goal of this course is to introduce students to the design of over-sampled converters. Students will learn about the basic functionality of sigma-delta converters, their architecture, how to simulate and design these architectures and how to map them to actual circuit blocks.
Covered topics:
- First-order sigma-delta: oversampling; noise-shaping; NTF/STF; decimation; overload; leakage.
- Second-order sigma delta: linear model; stability; quantizer modele; overload stability.
- Sigma-delta architectures: bandpass; continuous-time; multi-bit; cascaded/MASH; feedback; feedforward; local feedback
- Building blocks: SC integrator; RC integrator; loopfilter; current DAC; SC DAC; clock jitter
- Case studies.
