Electronic Power Conversion
Beschrijving
This course covers the principles of power conversion with switch-mode circuits. The basic circuits of power electronics are explained, including ac-dc converters (diode rectifiers), dc-dc converters (non-isolated and isolated) and dc-ac converters (inverters). Issues specific to power electronics including pulse width modulation, methods of analysis, voltage distortion, power quality and commonly used power semiconductor switches are treated.
Toetsing
The final grade of the course consists of the following components:
- Written final exam (closed book) (70%)
- Assignments (30%)
T = grade for written final exam * 0,7 + grade for assignments * 0,3
In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A, Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations.
