Error Correcting Codes

Introduction into error-correcting codes; mathematical basics; block codes fundamentals; cyclic codes; co-operating codes; soft-decision decoding; convolutional codes; iterative decoding (turbo codes, LDPC codes); applications.

The final grade will be fully determined by a scheduled written exam, which will be held at the end of Q4. The resit will take place as an oral exam in Q5, i.e., July/August, on appointment with the lecturer. The exam format is closed-book in any case.

In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A: Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations.
