Actor and Strategy Models

The course "Actor and Strategy Models" provides students with different analytical lenses and models to understand strategic actor interactions and decision-making behavior in networks. A conceptual framework introduces the core concepts and assumptions that are used to explain strategic actor interactions in public policy making. Different theoretical concepts and related analytical models are covered in the course, such as cognitive mapping, game theory, social network analysis, and behavioral insights. Students will acquire basic knowledge through the provided reading and video clips and in-class sessions. Its application will be practiced in modelling and lab exercises and demonstrated through project work. Active self-study and engagement in project work, classes and exercises is expected, resulting in a demanding mix of theory and application.
