Programming for Data Science
Beschrijving
This course introduces students to the foundations of programming and computational techniques widely used in data science. Using Python as the primary programming language, students will gain both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills through lab assignments and projects.
The course begins with a refresher on core programming concepts, including basic algorithms, data structures, control flow, and Object Oriented Programming. Building on this foundation, students will learn how to gather, clean, process, and visualize data, as well as apply machine learning techniques to extract insights from the data. A range of essential tools and libraries for scientific computing and data analysis will be introduced and practiced, including NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-Learn.
By the end of the course, students will be able to write effective Python programs, manage and analyze datasets, and apply fundamental machine learning methods to real-world problems.
