Chip Design
Beschrijving
During this project, the student will learn how to make a chip design with a group. The project focuses on structural hierarchical design and on working together within a group. The students are divided into groups of about 6-8 persons and each group together designs a chip. All groups will have to select one or more sensors that are used by the chip design.

A grade is given for a module design report that is written halfway during the project, by 2 or 3 students, about a part of the design.
A group grade is determined based on the evaluation of:
Results (40 %)
Originality and complexity of the design
Achieved results with respect to SV simulation
Achieved results with respect to FPGA prototyping
Achieved results with respect to simulation after placement and routing
Submitted design files
Design process (20 %)
Design methods applied
Collaboration within the group
Final report (20 %)
Presentation and defense (20 %)
The group grade is adjusted by a peer review that is held.
When G is the group grade, P is the possible adjustment made by a peer review (-1 <= P <= 1), and M is the grade for the module report, then the final individual grade is computed as 0.8 x (G + P) + 0.2 x M.5.
In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations 2024-2025.
