Bachelor Graduation Project EE
Beschrijving
The “Bachelor graduation project” (BAP) is a complex educational activity offering the students the possibility to materialise the knowledge and practical skills accumulated during the complete Bachelor curriculum in a design project in the area of Electrical Engineering. Students are expected to go in a structured and iterative manner through the complete design process:
drawing up a set of requirements,
concept analysis and design,
concept selection,
realisation and verification,
reporting and delivery of the final design.
As a baseline, the project is carried out in groups of 6 students – however projects specially tailored to groups of 4 or 2 students are also possible, under certain circumstances that are elaborated upon in the project’s Manual. The group’s task is approached concurrently by subgroups (in the majority of situations, 3 subgroups) that address specific aspects or components of the given assignment. Each subgroup is required to draw a thesis (one per subgroup) that must then be defended in front of a jury consisting of specialists in the area. Furthermore, the group is expected to deliver a concept demonstrator illustrating (be it partially) the functionality of the proposed design – the concept demonstrator can be general, cooperatively developed by the entire group, or be tailored to the task of a specific subgroup, as applicable.
