Hardware Implementation Project Definition
Beschrijving
EE3057TU is the first phase of a two-part project, followed by ET3056TU – Hardware Implementation. In this definition phase, a student in the team proposes a contribution to multidisciplinary hardware and/or software team project to be developed during a minor.
The student is responsible for developing a detailed project plan for the contribution that includes functional specifications, performance targets, risk assessments, and cost considerations. This phase also involves conducting preliminary research to ensure the feasibility of creating a convincing prototype in the implementation phase.
Past student projects have included rocket propulsion systems later deployed in sounding rockets and autonomous driving software for electric race cars.
Each team member documents their individual contributions in a written report. The project plan and supporting documentation are reviewed by a committee of internal and external professionals, who provide feedback, recommend improvements, and issue the final go/no-go decision for proceeding to the implementation phase.
Toetsing
Each student submits an individual paper or report and participates in a team presentation to defend the proposed project before a committee of internal and external experts. The written documentation serves as the basis for the committee’s review and is used to assess the project's feasibility, coherence, and readiness.
At the beginning of the course, the expected format and structure of the documentation are agreed upon with the supervising staff.
The outcome of this assessment determines whether the project receives a go/no-go decision for progression to the implementation phase in ET3056TU.
